Decode an IEC 61039:2025 classification code into plain language — or build one from a fluid's properties. Verified against Clauses 5.2–5.4 and Table 2 of the standard.
Type or paste a code from a nameplate, datasheet or oil report. Hyphens, spaces and lower case are fine.
"K-class" is colloquial: the formal class is L, and K is only the fourth category letter (fire point ≥ 300 °C).
Every letter and digit boundary reproduces IEC 61039:2025 (Ed 3), Clauses 5.2–5.4 and the Table 2 worked examples. Exactly 300 °C falls in the K fire-point class per the published IEC text. Values the standard does not define are shown as "?" rather than guessed.
