Before a dissolved-gas result is interpreted, it is worth asking whether the data itself is consistent. IEC 63585:2026 Clause 8 lists the conditions under which a DGA result should be verified first — and every Duval figure on this site will classify a sample that fails all of them.
Enter what the laboratory reported. Leave a field empty when the gas was not measured: an empty field is "not measured", a typed 0 is a measured zero, and the two are screened differently. The tool states plainly what it could not screen instead of filling the gap.
IEC 63585:2026 Clause 8 and IEEE C57.104-2019 §5.1.8 scope their oxygen findings to sealed equipment. Leave this unknown and those rules are reported as not screened rather than guessed.

The tools on this site are freely accessible calculation and screening tools provided free of charge. A result is computed from the values you enter using published methods, and compared against published limits from IEC, IEEE, CIGRE and others — with no knowledge of the specific asset's design, history, loading or operating conditions, and no knowledge of how the sample was taken and handled. A result is therefore an indication, not a diagnosis, and it is no substitute for laboratory analysis or a qualified engineering assessment of the asset concerned. Use of the tools does not create a client or advisory relationship; TriboTech ApS provides advisory services only under a concluded agreement, and assumes no professional advisory liability for the use of tool results outside such an agreement. Any decision about the asset taken on the basis of a result — including the decision not to act — is the responsibility of the engineer in charge and is taken on that engineer's own basis. As CIGRE itself puts it: "Actual actions on the equipment are the sole responsibility of engineers in charge of the transformers" (CIGRE Technical Brochure 771, 2019, section C.8, p. 54). The standards the tools refer to are the authoritative sources and may have been revised since the edition the individual tool applies.
